Greetings from Alabama!
We would like to invite you to join us for a
Tailgate Party, at the 2014 Alabama Watermel-
on Association Convention on February 14th
& 15th. This year’s convention will be held at
the beautiful Beau Rivage Resort and Casino
in Biloxi, Mississippi. For more information
please contact Marti Smith at 352-463-6925 or
firstname.lastname@example.org. I can assure you
this is a Watermelon Tailgate Party you do not
want to miss!
The 2013 Queen Tour has been very successful and full of excitement! We ended our promotions this year with a bang. Starting with
the United Fresh Washington Public Policy
Conference in Washington, D.C., where Queen
Jordan witnessed firsthand the issues the watermelon industry is facing.
Second, we were off to New Orleans, LA for
the annual PMA trade show. Approximately
18,000 industry professionals from 60 countries attended the Fresh Summit. What an
amazing experience and opportunity for Queen
Jordan to visit with produce industry members
from all over the Country.
Lastly, we headed back to Washington, DC
for the Marine Corp Marathon. This was one
of the best and busiest promotions I have ever
participated in. There were approximately
30,000 runners and we handed out over 32,000
cups of watermelon. I would like to thank
the National Watermelon Promotion Board
for organizing such a terrific promotion. In
addition, I would like to thank our sponsors
for this promotion: National Watermelon Association, NWPB, Mr. Don Hiller-The Class
Produce Group, Mr. Harry Vaughn-Gulf Seed,
Mrs. Cheryl Hicks-RockTenn, and Mrs. Mary
Queen Jordan and I look forward to seeing you
all at conventions and of course the National
Watermelon Association Convention.
See you all soon,
