The end of the year has been a busy time for Queen
Briston. In October she attended the PMA Fresh
Summit in New Orleans where she helped distribute
information in the exhibit hall where we shared booth
space with the Indiana Department of Agriculture.
Also attending from our area were Mouzin Bros.
Farms and Wabash Valley Growers. A big thank you
to Mitch Mitchell of International Paper for sponsoring this event.
One of Briston’s most memorable events would be
the Marine Corps. Marathon held in Washington D.C.
October 24th - 27th where we gave away 32,000 individual containers of watermelon. Thank you so much
to the NWA and NWPB for giving us this wonderful
opportunity and allowing us to be a part of this!! She
was in awe of the runners appreciation to receive watermelon at the end of the marathon.
Then on November 23rd, Briston, along with 3 or our
festival queens, braved the frigid temperatures and
wind to be in the annual Christmas Parade of Lights
held in Vincennes, IN. Thank you so much to Tim
Dunn and his wife Colleen for all of their time helping me get the float decorated and for pulling our
float, and thank you to Kelly Tyner of Hoosier Fresh
Farms for sponsoring our event.
On December 5th Queen Briston attended the Kroger
Grand Re-Opening of store number 86 on 65th Street
in Indianapolis where she also presented a check to
