We hope everyone had a delightful holiday season and
we will now pick up from where we left you in the last
edition - Taking you back to August, where warm weather
was upon us!
When we returned back home from a week with the
queens, Queen Amy joined the March of Dimes of DE
to support their Farmer and The Chef event, where the
Mar-Del Watermelon Association teamed up with the
chef from Baywood Greens to make a couple watermelon
dishes that attendees could taste and then vote on for their
Next up, was the Dover International Speedway’s Nascar
spearheaded a campaign called, “Use Your Melon, Don’t
Drink and Drive.” Amy joined Ross Chastain and his
crew for some promotional events and even joined him
on pit road and in the Fan Zone! A big “Thank You” to all
those who made this possible for Amy!
We were lucky enough to attend the PMA’s this year in
Orlando, FL and boy were we in awe of the size of the
building and the vendors. It was like nothing we had ever
experienced before and it gave us an inside view on all
types of foods and a chance to learn about their companies.

Leaving you on a very festive high note – Amy had the
privilege of riding on the “Watermelon Bus” that the town
of Laurel (DE) painted as a community event. The bus
has the town’s history, which includes watermelon and
she had a blast riding through the Christmas parade on it!

We would like to sincerely thank all of our sponsors and
supporters this year, as Amy has done an awesome job
promoting our product. I would also like to thank Dawn
